Energy Union is apan-European project to turn young people and policy makers onto IntelligentEnergy. In 2009 and 2010 Energy Union is touring through 24 cities in 12countries across Europe. In Ljubljana it will be presented on 19th and 21st ofMay with an audio-visual programme at Cvetličarna club, as well as the dailyprogramme featuring panel discussion hosted by FOCUS and info programme inAtrium of the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciencesand Arts.

Panel discussion by FOCUS -Association for Sustainable Development

Slovenia needs to achieve a 25% share of renewables in the energy mixby the year 2020. By the end of June this year Slovenia has to submit aNational Renewables Action Plan to the European Union where Slovenia needs tooutline how to achieve this goal. The direction is clear: switching to greenenergy. For this switch a coordinated action has to take place by politics,consumers and entrepreneurs.

Intelligent Energy is a keystep in the fight against climate change, and it includes a balanced mix ofenergy efficiency measures, renewable energy sources, efficient technologiesand sustainable lifestyles.

Energy Union opens a debate across Europe on how to coordinate theswitch to green energy. As part of this project, such a debate will take placein Ljubljana on the 21. May 2010, between 5 and 7 p.m. in the Atrium of theScientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

The pioneering band Coldcut,consisting of Matt Black and Jonathan More, has produced especially for EnergyUnion tour a new audio-visual film about Intelligent Energy, an innovative livecinema in a typical Coldcut mash-up style! Coldcut are considered to be the“creators” of modern audiovisual music. The creators of “Techno-House” gave thegenre of “Remix” a new direction. Produced together with Hexstatic in 1998,their hit “Timber” helped audiovisual music becoming popular far from theshores of the UK. Coldcut’s label Ninja Tune also stands for sound artistsemphasising audiovisual music. Celebrating its twentieth anniversary, 2010 willsee the release of Coldcut's new album, as well as the Solid Steel mix CD.

SEIJI (London / UK)

Paul ‘Seiji’ Dolby is one ofthe progenitors of broken beat and long time member of Bugz In The Attic, whichhe started together with Orin Walters and which grew into a collective ofbeatmakers based in West London. After leaving Bugz in 2007, Seiji released DJTools, an experimental beats album, on Sonar Kollektiv, at the same time asproducing and co-writing much of Roisin Murphy’s ‘Overpowered’ LP. He has nowreturned to underground dance music, presenting his own fresh and eccentrictakes on house, hip-hop, R&B, drum ‘n bass, dancehall and 2-step withremixes for Erykah Badu, Alicia Keys, Basement Jaxx, Crookers, Florence &The Machine and Gorillaz.

RDYODJs Soundsystem (Ljubljana)

RDYO DJsSoundsystem is assembled from nine DJ’s, from which everyone has its own viewand style of DJing, but most of all they strive to convert their personalselection to a common whole. They work as a “DJ band” in various combinations.Founders and main DJs are JAMirko and Pier, recognized DJs at home and abroad,that are forming a multimedia club culture since 1996. Besides Djing they alsoactively deal with education of young artists and spreading of urban/clubculture.

This time inCvetličarna it will be the first time they perform with MC Fats.

MC FATS (Metalheadz / Eastside / True Playaz /London UK)

DnB veteran who,with his microphone, traveled the whole world and always maintained areputation of an MC who ensures constant freshness and energy of DJ sets. Inmore then 20 years on the scene, MC Fats has layed down vocals for some of themost famous DNB classics, among which are “Drop it down” and “Love, Peace andUnity”.

A resident for institutions such as Eastside, True Playaz, Metalheadz and Fabric, Fats has a huge stage presence and

his talents are always in high demand.  As an artist in his own right, he’s worked with A Sides, Dillinja, Pendulum,

Alix Perez, Calibre and Hype.  Bringing the attributes of traditional MC and asinger together in an amazing fusion,

Fats knows how to rock the crowds and raise the vibe in 

true style.
