PRESSETEXT: (please scroll down 4 English version, you can download the Chinese version as pdf) ) 4youreye - LIVE VISUAL PERFORMANCES SINCE 1993 4youreye wurde bereits in den frühen 90er Jahren gegründet und basiert auf der Rave-, Ambient- und Clubkultur dieses Jahrzehnts. Seit der Gründung vor nun mehr als 10 Jahren hat sich 4youreye nicht nur im eigenen Land einen Namen gemacht haben, sondern kann auch international auf viele erfolgreiche Auftritte in Europa und Asien zurückblicken. Die 2er Crew steht für schnelle Hardcuts und unkonventionelle Bildfolgen, reißt Bilder, die wir aus alten Sehgewohnheiten zu kennen glauben aus dem Zusammenhang, um sie in einem anderen Kontext völlig neu entstehen zu lassen. Das, was Musik auszudrücken vermag wird hier in ständig wechselnden Bildteppichen wiedergegeben. Gearbeitet wirdgrundsätzlich live, also in Echtzeit produzierte FX. Intention ist es, Sound und Visuals zu einer Einheit werden zu lassen; Musik wird sichtbar und kann ganz anderes erlebt werden. Es entstehenz eitgebundene Unikate, gespeist aus Computeranimation, TV-Samples und eigen produziertem Material. Gefundenes, Erfundenes und wiedergefundenes dienen als fragmentarische Versatzstücke aus denenmit Sammelwut und Umdeutungskraft eine verwirrende Vielfaltgeschaffen wird. Geschichte wird als unendliches, babylonisches Archiv der Bilder, Medien, Sounds und Zeichen begriffen, um die offenen Räume der Zukunft zu erkunden. Ästhetisch bezieht sich 4youreye in ihren non linearen und raumgreifenden Konzeptionenauf die abstrakten Kunstfilme der 20er Jahre, den literarisch und politischen Cut-up und Collagentechniken der Experimentalfilme der50er und 60er Jahre, dem audiovisuellen Gesamtkonzept der Happening Kunst und Rockkonzerten der 70er Jahre sowie dem Live-Konzept der Video-Scratcher in den Londoner Clubs der 80er. 4youreye ist seit 2005 – also seit nunmehr 5 Jahren in Folge - im Londoner Magazin „DJ Mag“ unter den „Top 20 VJs“ vertreten. Die Wahl erfolgt durch ein internationals jährliches Voting. 4youreye lebt und arbeitet in Wien / Österreich. The 2 man Crew stand for fast hard cuts and unconventional screen sequences taking images that we believe to know from old viewing habits, out of their original context to then generate them into a completely new context. That, what music tries its best to express, is portrayed here in always changing picture collages. They work principally live, so in real time produced FX with the intentiont o combine music and visuals into one form entity. Music becomes visual and can be experienced in a totally different way. There emerge unique time-limited images, fed out of computer images, TVsamples and their own productions. Found, imagined and found again serve as fragmentary clichés which then with acquisitiveness and the strength of reinterpretation create a mind-boggling diversity. Stories are understood as a never-ending Babylonian Archive of pictures, media, sounds and symbols that explore the open spaces of the future. Aesthetically, 4youreye relate their non linear and expansive conceptions towardst he abstract Art films of the 1920`s, the literary and politicalcut-up and collage technique of the experimental films from the 1950`s / 60`s, the complete concept of the happening art and rockconcerts of the 1970`s and the live concept of the video scratchers of the 1980`s. 4youreye lives and works in Vienna / Austria. In the beginning of 2005 the English Magazine "DJ-Mag" has voted 4youreye for the first time one of the top 20 VJs worldwide, being placed number 18.At the end of 2005 „DJ-Mag“ has again voted 4youreye into the Top 20 VJs ranking – this time 4youreye is placed number 13. In 2006 4youreye is placed number 14 and in 2007 & 2008 number 5. 2007 the German magazine “De:Bug” voted 4youreye into the Top10 VJs – 4youreye was placed number 8.
